<p>  Pretty weak, if not innacurate on the topic of Power Factor. Thing is, ALL AC power calculations must take Power Factor in consideration.However the book only discusses Power Factor in scope to kilowatts or KVA, and actually uses  DC ohms law for less than KW or KVA. In truth, power Factor applies in ALL AC circuits, regardless of the values.While the DC power formula results in n the same answer for an AC non-reactive (i.e. resistive) circuit, it is still a misapplication to do so, as it doesn&#8217;t take the Power Factor into account.True, the Power Factor for an AC resistive circuit = 1, it yields the same answer as a DC circuit. However by not using the Power Factor in the equation, it doesn&#8217;t acknowledge the load type.Power Factor and misapplication of Ohms Law is chronic in the industry, which only.makes it harder to understand for many. I don&#8217;t know how many times I have argued Power Factor with supposedly knowledgeable people that didn&#8217;t have a clue.I fear this book only advances the myth of using DC Ohms Law for AC circuits.Most of the time, publications referencing the pie chart used on the cover of the book do have a disclaimer that the power for.ula is for resistive circuits only, but this book doesn&#8217;t even do that.</p>

<p>  Awesome little reference to have on hand when designing electrical systems. The only con I would note is the focus on 480V systems for some parts, instead of 600V that we have in Canada, but it’s an American product so that makes sense. It still does have plenty of information about 600V systems, but there are a few handy quick references that it is left out of. Again, an extremely useful book that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to any electrician or electrical design professional.</p>

<p>  I love ugly books, I really don&#8217;t need a new one every 3 years as the info I need doesn&#8217;t change but after 3 years of use my old books are usually falling apart,  I add tabs for the ampacity tables for wire sizes and motor sizing charts what I use the most but if I need to look up a formula uglys has what i need (every electrician and DIY sparky should have a ugly book).</p>

<p>  I purchased my Ugly&#8217;s book 3 months after a 1-star reviewer stated that his book had missing division lines on page 15. I checked mine, see pic, and mine is correct. I guess he got one of the probably very few bad copies that managed to get past QC. He mentioned he still &#8220;had 185 pages to check&#8221;, but we haven&#8217;t heard back from him&#8230;so I&#8217;m guessing that was the only error in his copy. Honestly, this is Amazon. Return it, get a replacement at no cost and move on with your day. 1-star rating for a single typo, umm, OK.Anyway&#8230;I give it 5 stars because it the best concise, COMPACT electrical reference book for residential, commercial &amp; industrial low-voltage applications&#8230;and by low-voltage I mean &lt;≈1000V. No book is perfect, but this one comes close considering it a pocket reference book that you can keep in your tool case, vehicle or remote office, and not a 10lb, 400-page, hardcover reference book of some sort that is sitting on a shelf somewhere. Its contents will cover probably 95% of a field electrician or electrical project manager&#8217;s needs.For less than $15 bucks it&#8217;s really a no-brainer.</p>

<p>  I remember the older version, which apparently I have lost, being easier to read and organized more intuitively. This version is good, just not as good as the old one.</p>

<p>  This is a very good book to have for any Electrician. It covers most things that are in the National Electrical Code. I recommend this book to anyone in the trade.</p>

<p>  Size of this book should be 6&#8243; wide x  8&#8243; high it has  ( too small print), Secondly wery thin paper . Not suitable for field use at all, If it is intended for that.! Content is OK, but not great&#8230;&#8230;more info you can find on YOU TUBE, but there is an issue of accuracy.Be prepared for using magnifier&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;</p>

After receiving my copy, it really has limited applicability for aviation electrical practice for a professional FAA A&amp;P. You are better off with other more directly applicable aviation electrical reference sources.</p>
