Dispense Coils Anywhere With A Portable Wire Spinner-The Wire Pod

A few weeks back, I told you about a wonderful new tool from Rack-A-Tiers called the Thomas Wheeler. It is a wonderful device that makes pulling NMSC, MC cable or Flex kiss simple and twist free. I am happy to say that we are still using the ones that we purchased for the company and I didn’t think that we could be any happier with a product. Being associated with the guys at Rac-A-Tiers as long as I have been, I should of known better.

Never letting success stand in the way of further innovation the good folks at Rack-A-Tiers found a way to take the great concept of the Thomas Wheeler and make it even better.

That is why it brings me great pleasure to introduce to you the Wire-Pod.

The Wire-Pod

First, let me tell you that the Wire-Pod isn’t on the market yet. It is still in development, but when I saw the prototype and got a good look at it, I just couldn’t wait to spread the news.

The Wire-Pod addresses a problem that most of us have faced more than once in our careers. The pulling of coiled cables without having to fight kinks and twist. We all know what a pain this process can be and how frustrating it can get when we have to stop a pull and flip coils around trying to get it back on a straight run.

With the Wire-Pod life is going to a lot easier. It is an ultralight, less than three pounds, coil dispenser that you can simply slip inside a coil of cable and hang on your stepladders brace. It is compatible with with NMSC, AC and Flex coils and all but guarantees an easy twist free pull.

When not in use, it  folds, yes folds, no assembly required, up into a package that you can literally carry in your pouch. This will make it easy and convenient to have on hand. Best of all, for all its light weight and compactness it is designed and built rock solid and strong as a horse.

In my mind, this little devil is going to be just the ticket when pulling cables in drop ceilings or just about anywhere overhead, especially when working solo.

Conclusion

There are a lot of wire dispensers on the market, but just about all of them are heavy, cumbersome and have too many pieces to break or misplace. The fact that the Wire-Pod is one folding unit means there are no pieces to misplace or to get left at the shop.

Light, compact, strong, convenient, easy to use and coming from Rack-A-Tiers, I’m sure reasonably priced. This new tool has all the makings of a world class winner.

Unfortunately, in the beginning at least, this product will only be available to US customers. If you live north of the border you may have run down to get one or contact a fellow electrician, in the US, and have them ship it up to you. Either way it promises to worth the trouble.
