Our auger bits are Ship Auger Bits which feature a lowered spur. Normal auger bits feature a single raised spur opposite the cutting lip. If this spur hits a nail, it can be damaged beyond repair. The Rack-A-Tiers Auger Bits have the spur placed lower than the cutting edge, making these perfect for drilling in wood that contains nails.
