The Tools Behind @Sancheezy_Electric_Inc’s 4-Million-Square-Foot Warehouse Build
Meet Steven Sanchez (@sancheezy_electric_inc), a foreman who works on the front lines of major commercial builds. In this blog, he shares how Rack-A-Tiers tools became the go-to on one of his biggest jobs yet, turning an empty shell into a 4-million-square-foot Amazon warehouse, and why his crew won’t work without them.
From the Field: Meet Sancheezy
My name is Steven Sanchez. I’ve been an electrician for 12 years in the union with IBEW Local 428. I did a five-year apprenticeship, and I was a foreman for the last few years. As a foreman, I was able to procure a lot of my own equipment and a lot of my own tools. I was very fortunate that the company that I was working for kind of gave me free rein to order whatever I wanted or whatever I thought fit best for the jobs that I was doing.
How Rack-A-Tiers Won Over a Major Job Site
Rack-A-Tiers really impressed me when I was in charge of a crew building an Amazon warehouse in Bakersfield, California. It started at a million square feet and was completely empty. We turned that building into a four-million-square-foot, fully operational industrial Amazon warehouse with robots and conveyors, and it was just incredible. One of my prouder work assignments that I’ve been given.
With that work assignment and that job, I ordered a lot of Rack-A-Tiers tools. A lot of other foremen started to see the tools that I was bringing to the job site, which they then started to order. And then it became a company-wide known tool manufacturer that everyone began to recognize because I started showing up with different Rack-A-Tiers tools.
Rack-A-Tiers 2.0: Lighter, Easier Wire Pulls
The one that I would highlight as one of my favorites was the Rack-A-Tiers wire dispenser because it’s lightweight and the fact that the two sides stack into each other so you can carry them easily.
We had a lot of wire pulls on different levels of the building and getting the traditional metal wire spool racks up there was really difficult because they were just too heavy. Guys were struggling with those big metal wire spool jacks because they’re just bulky and hard to carry. Especially for smaller runs that didn’t need a lot of wire.
With the Rack-A-Tiers 2.0, we were able to carry those anywhere we went easily, and they helped us tremendously on the job. And once the other foremen saw my crew using these Rack-A-Tiers jacks stands, they became an item that they started to order from that point forward. So, we use those a lot!
Nut Blaster: Faster Trim-Out
Once it came to trim-out, we started to do a lot of receptacles and lighting, so we used the Nut Blaster. Those worked really well because we had a lot of work that we had to do after the fact because of change orders. So, Nut Blaster helped speed things up.
Stud Ball: Fast, Accurate Stud Finding
Stud Ball was a really big help. I ordered a few of those stud finders, and they worked really, really well, especially with metal stud framing. But even if it wasn’t metal stud, they picked up the screws in the walls really well.
The Verdict: Rack-A-Tiers Delivers
So, all in all, Rack-A-Tiers is one of the better tool companies, especially if you’re an electrician. They have specialized tools, and I’m very impressed by the products they have.
